  • Rodford Built, from Bristol and from when they were doing longjohns, they've been focussing on their mini-bike recently so not sure if they're doing them any more other than maybe as custom jobs.

Also used as the nippers' nursery taxi when not carting junk around...

  • Creepiest kid ever, never let that one near maidens and railway tracks.

  • Need more bungees

Or harvest a load of dead inner tubes from your lbs :)

    Sweet cargo bike btw!

  • Thanks- Dynamo /main battery lights is on the nice to have list as is the rear rack!

Problem with test rides is we’re in Edinburgh! We’re aware of Laid back bikes here and Hive in Glasgow. Gonna ask around and get some test rides sorted- plan is to get the bike in feb/mar 2020 once we’re settled into the burbs and the worst of the weather is over- do t want the wee man to hate riding!!!

I have to reluctantly admit 4K looking unlikely except for the Babboe :(

  • I had not noticed the sus fork on the RM Packster. I am also suspicious of that

  • omg we have the same primark blanket!

also those segmented forks will get @Hulsroy to the yard

  • They are twin plate not segmented.

  • Ah! Nice place to live!!!

Bakfiets are great handling bikes. Well built and available in short/long versions and you can get electric assist too. A lot less than 4K as well:

The components are less performance orientated but still robust. Well worth a look. Riding a Bakfiets certainly puts a smile on your face with its super relaxed position and neutral handling.

Otherwise 2nd hand is the other option, but you're at the mercy of waiting for something to come up at the right place, right time...

Also you could use cycle to work scheme to buy and if your self employed might be able to one through your company if you can come up with a valid reason why! :)

I'm self employed and have recently used the DfT eCargo-Bike Scheme. I was granted £961 towards mine https://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/transport/freight-and-retrofit/ecargo-bike-grant-fund

  • I'm employed - work are in the process of agreeing a new upper limit so I'm hoping that will be high. I will be doing a nursery drop with the older wean on my way to work so I'll have to use the cargo bike to do that. Plus the electric assist will mean I'm no sweaty when I arrive as I'll have ~100m of climbing. Airtight amiright?

  • I'm off to try a gazelle cabby on Friday.

It's not what I want but it might be what I need.

(Stress free to lock up around London, carries kiddo+guest, good for shopping, takes the occasional bulky load to the dump.)

If it works I'll be selling our much loved wehoo trailer - about 1yr old. Anyone interested?

  • Junktruck shitpost.

  • Is the top one really necessary?

  • In what sense? It needs as much bike as possible to clear the front cargo space, and to have something for the seatpost to go into. It’s maxed out as-is. Could have done with even more frame. At least one of the middle tubes is unnecessary though I guess.

Custom reflective decals in a pseudo-Cannondale font.

    nice pic, nice bike

  • Wouldn’t say that if you saw the welds or wonky cuts...

Still. Hella fun to ride. Needs lower gearing.

  • Updated website with new products looking good. Can hopefully be able to order a Cargo soon from them...

  • Heres an omnium related question; for mini and mini max; will the size small fit someone 5’2” and 5’7” ?

  • Probably not both, at the same time, in the cargo space.

  • I'd ignore their sizing and size guidelines, I spent ages second guess what size I should get, I'm only 5,11 so should be riding medium, but after a test ride and have comparing the top tube and seat tube length to my current bikes I got a large and even then I'm running a 120 stem and a lay back set post to get a comfortable position.

That being said not everybody is going to want to have a flat back and a slammed stem on there cargo bike.

I would guess your going to be right between a medium and a small.

  • Geometry is a wee bit odd on the Omnium. Think road bike conversion. The top tubes are all quite short for use with flat bars.

  • Hmm basically i need to share the bike with missus ..

  • Somebody's going to have to compromise on the fit.

  • I had a friend probably about that height who managed on a small mini-max. Wouldn't recommend it for a none confidant cyclist tho, lack of standover height will be a real problem

  • Alright! Back to looking at buillitt and riese and muller
