  • Saw these at £35 when you posted the link and now they've gone up to £50 :-) They look pretty good though.

Got a decent deal on a Rapha Core jersey so have gone with that in the end.

@plasticniki yeah I rate the Aeron shorts I've got, but I remember the aeron jerseys didnt fit that well on me when I had one a while back. The classic and Blok jerseys fit reasonably well but I wanted something plain.

  • Nothing in the dhb range goes in this thread ... soz

  • You could say that about quite a few things that end up in this thread!

  • I’ve got a torm jersey that I really like - wanted something a bit more lightweight & non merino. Rapha core turned up today and ticks the boxes - glad to find it wasn’t too short for me which I’ve found them to be in the past (despite me being only 5’8)

  • Anyone got out tried anything by this company?

  • Yeah but the customs charges sting a bit.

I got a short sleeved plaid shirt for mt'bing from them this summer. Its really well made with some nice details.
It the most expensive shirt I've ever bought at over £100.

I did ask the item be labelled gift or undervalued on the package at my own risk but was given a flat no response.

    In summary, nice but pricey..

  • Oh. Ouch. Then no

100% british merino wool, bare ethical, 15o notes!

  • Niche but can anyone recommend stylish/fitted/performance/insulated bike jackets?

Picked up a Mavic allroad yesterday but it's going back - super comfy, looks better in real life and feels like it'll be warm in the right places when riding but has 0 useful pockets. Maybe it's meant to be worn over a jersey with pockets or something shrug https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Mavic/Allroad-Thermo-Jacket/NU17?s=1

  • I have seldom need more than my Rapha Pro Team jacket with a merino ls base. I once layered it with a long sleeve jersey underneath during a festive ride in below zero freezing temps and was toasty warm.

  • It's a fair point, I'm also currently using a Rapha Pro Team jacket, with a good base layer and gilet over the top it's good enough for -5C in the park but it's now 5 years old and hardly wind proof anymore.

Recently picked up the endura primaloft gilet and it's ace so it got me thinking about something insulated. Fancied this as something a bit more casual looking and useful if I pull my finger out and go bikepacking somewhere cold like Iceland. For £135 I expect some useful pockets though.

A decent windproof jacket + shakedry is probably a more versatile combo.

  • Endura Primaloft
    Cafe Du Cycliste Albertine

  • Sure pedaled must offer something too

  • Thanks, will take a look

  • Warm on the bike, or warm off the bike? One wont do the other.

  • On the bike but mostly noodling around/ zone 2 rides/ commuting (16 miles each way). Also considered one of the Arc'teryx Atom hoodies but suspect it'll be a hot mess on a bike.

I'm after the moon on a stick... though the Mavic with usable pockets would have ticked all the boxes. I'll probably just get the Endura Primaloft II, the gilet is great or a regular windproof + shakedry for covering more conditions.

  • I wear a soft shell with pit zips in that situation. Warm but good thermal regulation with zips.

Primaloft gold will be too much if cycling in anything less that 5deg. Unless it's like 40g/m2 stuff.

Polartec alpha could be nice. Montane would be a good should, cheap but decent. I looked at the ember jacket the other day thinking it could be nice.

  • Good to know - have been following the discussion in the Sleeping systems - bags, pads, matts, liners aka insulation thread and was trying to workout the right insulation for different riding conditions/styles.

  • £130 for a shirt

    That's chainsaw money!

  • £130 for a wool shirt is about right - see pendleton etc

Not sure what kind of chainsaw comes in at that price point, a half decent petrol one will cost a lot more.

Undecided, but hoping this leads to a much-needed range of shake-drys in colours other than black

  • The shake dry fabric has been until recently, impossible to print on so only came black.
Romance aren't the first or last

  • 'In full colour' - photo so dark can't see a thing. Hipsters.
