That said I had a race mk10 and that needed a repair. Cost me a good amount of shipping from Oz.

Any recommendations for a day light? Currently looking at the exposure trace “day bright”. Bonus points if it’s easy to remove, I lock my bike 20-30 times a day.

Trace is ace and really throws out a lot of light.

Is that some kind of quirk?

Exposure Sirius - cheapish, unmissable.

I built my own rear light which looks not dissimilar to what you're describing.

Any good under-basket options to illuminate the shadow cast by the basket if using bar-mounted front light?
I’ve got Wald struts and mid-blade eyes to mount to but like the idea of some sweet downlights mounted under the basket... -

Zip tie on a plastic tube...attach anything on it

+1 for the music
How did you make the light?
I'm guessing it is cheaper than buying the equivalently bright light? -
• #5068
I'm after a backup rear light. Need it to be easy to switch between bikes so a rubber band type mount thing really. Ideally usb rechargeable and ideally really cheap.

If you have the time to wait. I have one that’s two years old, not too shabby for a 4 euro light.

Any idea if the magnetic mount is any good? Is it a magnet attached to a rubber strap and a magnet on the back of the light to take it off easily?
-
• #5074
The magnetic mount is really good. You twist and it locks. The magnet kind of pulls it in. It makes removing the light without taking the mount off really quick, just grab and twist.

Yes very cheap around £10-£15 at the time I think. I put links to the parts in the video description. It just involves a very small amount of soldering. The driver board is a little too large for the torch body, but it still screws together. I made the diffuser out of a white plastic baroca type tube. Just sanded off the label, cut it to size and sealed with a tiny bit of silicon sealant. The body takes an 18650 battery which lasts an age. I used it for the first time the other day after 2 years of non use for an hour and it still has charge.
Never found a good fitting for it so just tie it to a saddle bag now.
Fwiw I have a Diablo from 2012 and it's still going strong
