Nah, the weight savings are minimal from a 30 to a 50mm carbon rim. But you'll get a stiffer, stronger, more aero wheel. The only times I wish for less than 50 are descending exposed roads with strong winds, but you won't get that in a crit.
Most importantly, they look better and do a nice hum sound.

I'm looking at a couple of wheel options.

But I wonder if 28mm wide rims would work between the chainstays. Any input on that @adroit?
And the max recommended weight on the Farsport one's are 40kg lower than lightbicycle. Why's that?
And why I opt for 38mm is just because I don't really fancy the look on 50mm ones.
I think they're too deep and just looks too bulky.
Yeah, this might be true. But less mass in wheels is quicker in the sprint no? So a middle-of-the-road wheelset.
And I think this needs some 32mm carbon clinchers. Not as lairy as @Dammit wants it I reckon but still..
