I'm deffo going to put the 911 into storage over winter, before I pull the trigger and book it into Carlines does anyone have a different place to recommend?
North Yorkshire, Tadcaster too far? Top of M1 . Could give the number if interested. Forum passim.

I'd prefer somewhere roughly an hour by public transport away from SE London - thanks though.

Wasn't that much into cars a few years ago and just have been driving for 5 years now anyway!
But yes prices have gone up like crazy. One of my best friend had his dad scrap his perfectly working E30 320i maybe 10 or 15 years ago because he didn't know what to do with it and it was a "second" car.
I love mine but would definitely have the exact same in same spec but Touring!
And regarding mods, already did some adjustments but in france rules make pretty much any modification illegal -

For reasons I won't go into, the purchase of a freshly imported forester sti i posted a few pages back has fallen through. It's no bad thing though as it's made me reconsider whether any car is worth having a bank loan for (it isn't), so I'm back searching for a car with a tighter budget of between 4 and 5k.
Requirements:
Petrol
Manual
Space for a greyhound in the boot and bikes on roof or towbar (preferably estate)
Engine size no greater than 2.5l (pre-08) or emissions under 225 g/km (08 on)
UnderstatedI looked at hatches like focus st and mazda 3 mps and the wife has no'd them as they look like "boy racer cars", which is funny as the forester sti was much more lairy.
Any outside the box suggestions?

Seat Altea Fr?
Loads of dog room, fit a towbar for the bikes and has plenty of poke
They’re not that common and petrol one’s even less so.
Found just one on eBay

Buy @Fixedwheelnut's 318i E30 touring when his 335i will be repaired
(I know, might be a bit too much outside the box, but ticks petrol/manual/touring haha) -

Love the 100hp, but it's too small for what we need it for.

That is the thing, if I had a bit more thought, could have made some easy ish money.

Get a non - STI version?
3rd of the price and the XT will still give you plenty of power

BMW 130i non-Msport. Looks no different to the vanilla 1-series, space for dog. Just doesn’t quite fit the 2.5l bit. Tax is about £300 I think. Glorious engine.

Might not be the choice of the track day regular but the low tailgate would go down well with an ex racing, lethargic greyhound
Suzuki Jimny LJ80 is pretty cool.
