:-) deer bone is used to remove creases from cordovan shoes. This is a new journey for me so I was surprised to hear this but it does indeed work... really cool. I believe it’s because it’s a relatively fatty bone, or something like that, and the fat soaks into the cordovan and helps reduce the appearance of creases.
Turns out cordovan needs quite a lot of maintenance....
What's with the bone in the middle? Boiling stock off your old shoes?
