Done.
Now what does the M do that in any way means I have to change anything I do normally.

I've found this thread interesting so far. I suppose part of the reason why it's always going to be controversial is because 'boycotting' is, on the face of it, a negative thing in the sense that one seems to say: 'Most everything is good, but this is bad, therefore boycott.' I try to just follow simple rules, although inevitably I'm not 100% consistent, e.g. mostly shopping locally, trying to deal with smaller businesses in preference to larger ones where possible, and so forth. I find that a more positive set of rules, and it's also a lot easier to follow, because you don't have to remember the status of millions of different things.

How do you boycott an ecologist/environmentalist? They don't tend to provide a paid-for service.

(taking the view that "ecologist" just means someone who cares about ecology, not someone who does it for a job:)
All environmentalists ought to be ecologists

You can buy UK (and I think Irish) quinoa fairly easily. I don't, because it's foul wherever it comes from.

As i find it particularly difficult to know if a company is genuinely good or bad i feel my only real option is consume less. Particularly in terms of the environment.
I try and look less at the hype and more at the actual use and lifespan of a product. I own a car in London so technically i'm a cunt but it's an old Saab from 92 and is still the newest car i've owned. I do my bit to support local/ethical companies but in reality it feels like small batch items are rarely better for the environment in terms of footprint so i still minimise purchases.
But if that's all shit and i'm missing the point please can i throw Morrissey into room 101.
