For reference, the bike was quoted as 14kg on the 1989 Peugeot brochure and it has not slimmed down over the years!
It could be made lighter by removing the mudguards, rack, dynamo then turning it into a singlespeed, putting lighter folding tyres, changing the handlebars & brake levers to alloy versions. But you might as well look at other bikes if weight is a priority.
The would make a lovely townbike, just not one that is easy to carry up 5 flights of stairs.
