I personally prefer the look of the Moccamaster in my kitchen

BTW your Finca El Mirador Columbian beans are excellent. Just got 2 bags and of all the beans I've bought over the past 18-20 months from you, these are hands down my favourite.

Ah that’s lovely to hear thank you! I bought that coffee from my old mates at Monmouth as my usual supplier’s Colombias were a bit uninspiring. They hold their own competition at origin to find the best lots.

For the Moccamaster fans here’s my doppeldripper for batch brew in the shop. Love it.

Considering buying a Moccamaster to replace French press at home.
One of my jobs is to make sure my wife has a cup of coffee in her hand before I leave the house at 7, and it looks like the MM might be less faff.
I could set it up the night before, and just have to flip a switch when I get up?

Plus I just like gadgets.

Yes just plug it into a lamp timer and set it up the night before. The Sage has that feature built in though. Waking up to coffee without faff is brilliant.
Sorry or yes just turn it on when you get up if it’s all prepared

Anyone have aeropress that they want to get rid?

If anyone is looking for an espresso machine I've got a bargain Rancilio Silvia up for sale.
It's around 10 years old, was originally owned by me. I sold it to @Velocio (for use at an office I think) and at some point ended up in the hands of @Chalfie.
After a new kitchen meant he didn't have space for it it ended up back with me. I've now upgraded so it needs a new home.
It all works ok but definitely needs a good descale (YouTube has loads of these clips of how to do that). It's not cosmetically perfect but these machines are built like tanks and can polish up nicely with a bit of elbow grease.
Just looking for a charitable donation of £50 (or more!) to Ambitious about Autism (https://www.ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk/).
I want it picked up this weekend from SE27.
PM's please.

Anyone interested in a kitchenaid grinder for spares/repairs? Motor went poof while my father in law was using it.
It’s probably just bushings need replacing but I’m not an appliance engineer lol! Not currently running and kitchenaid are tricky to deal with re: servicing but it’s a nice machine and gotta be worth fixing for someone.Free/token forum donation. It’s in E17

Standard 60g/l. I only ever fill the reservoir to 1l, if you use the full 1.25 then you need 75g of coffee and there’s a good chance of the filter paper overflowing. Set grind to taste - if it’s too concentrated grind coarser, too weak grind finer.

Gutted to have missed this. Our faithful dualit has finally given up after ten years of use. Ready for a proper upgrade now - anyone got something similar to shift?
-
• #16444
I'd be interested in trying to fix it up if still available?

Missed this sorry.
I've replaced my element for fixing the same issue. Was pretty simple.

Fair play.
Yeah I would doubt you’ll get a hugely noticeable difference in cup quality between the two machines. The main thing is it has a few more gadgets and bigger brewing capacity. Looks a bit more modern I guess.
