Thanks man, I shall try that.
Also loving your name!

Noice - what top tube bag is that?
-
• #9529
Silca Speed Capsule...annoyingly hard to find bolt on bentobox packs that aren't triathlon / aero based, it does the job though, bit of a squeeze to get a mobile in there

the most ugly bike I've ever seen? £3490. crap offroad. what a joke
-
• #9531
It’s not the ugliest bike ever! Ridden one then?
-
• #9532
It looks crashed
-
• #9533
How do you know its crap off road?
-
• #9534
agreed, it's not pretty, but there are many uglier bikes than this!
mudguard seems a bit of a silly addition - is the short headtube to allow for a suspension fork?

"If it looks alright, it'll fly alright"
-
• #9536
silly addition
do you like horse shit pounding you in the face? ;)
-
• #9537
Mudguard is rated to support up to 2kg of load, so good for bulky yet light stuff like a sleeping bag and mat.
-
• #9538
Mondraker MTBs with their "shitting dog" toptubes are worse.
-
• #9540
Mudguard allow you to strap a dry bag on it, the fork also allow a small rack for bigger dry bag.
And yes suspension corrected.
-
• #9541
Corrected is not the word I would use.
-
• #9542
That funny little mudguard and the whole bike looks better with some gear on and it seems to do what it's meant to pretty well.
-
• #9543
How do you know its crap off road?
Because internet
-
• #9544
Ah of course, ride feedback by numbers
-
• #9545
It is fugly though
-
• #9546
There is no denying that

Thing is, you could race the Divide on a whole load of different bikes and people do. A bike for riding US forestry and county roads and some basic byway type terrain at a good pace is easy to get mostly right. A bike that also handles tech stuff well in a way that makes it fun and involving like a good (even rigid) MTB should be, not so easy.
-
• #9548
Good luck finding two people who agree on what 'tech stuff' is though ;-)
My own opinion of tech would probably alter, depending on what bike I had to use
-
• #9549
No matter the purpose of a bike, there is no excuse for ugly ass design!
That thing does look like very post collision. With bags not so much obviously.

Easy or not, I've understood things like TD are what it's designed for, rather than the tech stuff? A lot like Cutthroat. But yeah not like it's the one bike to rule them all, to replace a mountainbike on the trails.
If not, it's new hub/wheel time.
