Report from the Hodinkee / Grand Seiko event last night: the canapés were excellent and I shook Jack Forster’s hand.
The interview was a bit cursory. Jack’s intro had the vibe of a religious cult. The watches were all in cabinets with some of the worst display lighting I think I’ve ever seen. This made photographing or even seeing the watches nearly impossible, though they did have reps taking some of the current models out for people to try on. I handled the Godzilla, mad watch.
The Credors were probably the highlight. Those new enamel dial spring drive Presages were impressive. And the Prospex LX watches are hilariously chunky.

I give it seven Zaratsu polishes out of ten.
