• Is there anywhere sensible to mount the 3 port Di2 junction box other than under the stem? (Obs still need to access charging point) It’s a fortune for the bar end one and I’m not convinced that’s a great place for electrics and expensive things.

  • I've seen them mounted underneath the saddle which can work well. It's a bit wet under there, potentially, though.

  • I was going to get one of those handlebar end units but then realised that charging on the move during ultra races would be tricky with wires hanging over to the drop. So stuck with the stem mount. Using a K-edge Di2 mount puts it in basically the same place but it's slightly nicer than stem mount because the stem is free to put other stuff on and the K-edge mount will rotate when you pull the bike apart which makes it easier packing.

  • I always wondered why not have it in your bars at the bar end, and then when you need to charge, just take the bar end out, pull out the junction and charge.

Not great for trimming the mechs on the go but it's not like that's necessary very often.

  • I'm gonna try putting it in the seat post, in line with the battery. So long as I remember to mark the seat post height when taking it out to charge every 3-4 months, should be fine.

Only thing I'll lose is the option for on the fly trimming the rear mech, but once set, it's very rare that that needs to happen
