• I need to buy a few more components but some are cheaper here, others are cheaper there, so not sure how to approach this, as I am skint and would like to buy online on finance or with a credit card.

Do you guys know what big online shops price match (wiggle does, I see), and where's most likely to find most of the stuff I need? Some handlebars, bottom bracket, brake calipers, levers, pedals, brake cable, chain, saddle, gatorskins, etc.

Guess it's easier to say that I only have the frame and wheelset + tires/inner tubes, which I want to get rid of anyway.

  • Bike-discount / bike24

  • Bikes and bike bits depreciate quickly - have you looked on eBay (where you can use a credit card)/on here in sale posts for secondhand bits? If your budget is tight you’ll get the best bang for your buck buying used.

  • Halfords price match instore. Also if you have a British cycling membership you get 10% discount. If you know a Deliveroo rider they get a 20% discount. So you can get some bargains in halfords.

  • you need to print out a voucher from the BC website to get the discount from Halfords now. they change the voucher barcode every month.

  • Are you after high-end stuff, or just functional?

  • Just the latest qr code on your phone is enough with your bc card . The staff i have come across are not bothered.

  • BB, chain and cables are the only bits I’d be buying new. Even tyres can be found on here in good condition

  • Nothing major. Just trying to get the cheapest stuff out there and find a site as my starting point when I will need to buy any more bike related things.

    As for now:
    SRAM TT 500 brake levers
    Cinelli Mash bullhorn handlebar
SRAM GXP bottom bracket (English thread) - or whatever better alternative
Specialized Romin Pro saddle 2016 version (155mm)
Shimano SPD-SL pedals PD-R540 - or whatever better alternative
Shimano 105 5800 front brake caliper
    Single speed chain (k710?)
    Brake cable set

  • I know life advice is off-topic, but I advise you not to go into debt. Get a freecycle bike or bits for now and put up with it until you have the money you need. If you have time just spend it on the forum. Everything is available here in the end for reasonable prices.
