dunno something about the interwebz that makes people behave like cunts.
No consequences. You can say you want to buy something and the next second change your mind without any effects.

yes, but virtual cunt is a real life cunt too. despite what these cunts might think.
although tbh, with age (im 30 now), ive come to the conclusion that the majority of people are cunts anyway (look at elections for example), so i just either tell them flat out theyre cunts (with eexplanation, they might see a light in their dim brains), or i just dont bother interacting with them anymore. lifes too short, and i have limited energy.
quite refreshing to be honest. -

and yes ive reneged from purchases in the past, but with explanation and apology. but that hardly ever happens the other way around.

I refunded 75% of the cost of a £40 wheel. I thought it was a good deal finally for the buyer, one persons perception of something is never the same as another's. I always try to deal face to face because of this. I also think said wheel got bent in the post, so nothing I could do about that. But was I going to chase the courier for £40 compo? Given the loops they pop you through, Nope. I try to be fair, even if the world isn't, and that's not cos the baby jesus will send me to a firey pit. I empathise.

Sometimes best to list some stuff on eBay, less emotive and personal.
Still cunts on there though -

There’s even more cunts on ebay. People bid , then don’t pay and just ignore your msgs and ebay doesn’t even allow giving negative feedback to nonpayers. Or you sell a laptop they receive it and say that the screen is flickering or it has a password on it and ebay is always on buyers side like 100% and you’ve got to waste time and money on postage.
-
• #34
Yeah, maybe I've been lucky on the bay but there seems to be the wrong expectation from buyers

Wait, you're not splitting? You've got to be splitting me.

Most of the time ebay is ok just the fee sucks and their policy where buyer is always right even if he’s wrong. Quick ebay example:
-could you post to smolensk?- thats like £100 insured
- no mate, the cheapest way, uninsured ,untracked £12. Always works
- ok, if you accept full responsibility ill post
- sure thing.
You post it, and you only have a receipt from the post office. 2 weeks later gives you positive feedback, you do the same. Another 2 weeks later opens case saying that nothing was received. You send a copy of receipt to ebay and msgs where buyer accept responsibility. They give 0 fucks you have to do a full refund.
Don’t repeat my mistakes. - thats like £100 insured

That presupposes Jesus even existed and if he did...his name was not Jesus and he would have been dark skinned etc etc.

ASAP opinions needed.
Bought a frame off here and when it came it didn’t have the chris king headset included as pictured and mentioned.
First asked the seller where it was, response was sorry a mistake as he had copied and pasted the previous ad when he bought it.
I ask for funds so I can get a chris king headset for it. He replies with no please send it back.As a compromise I instead suggest he pays me the money for the return postage (£21) as a gesture because of his mistake.
He now refuses and will only refund a cheaper postage option of £8-£10?!I see no compromise in his opinion. This doesn’t take into account the inconvenience of having to repackage and having to wait around for parcelforce to collect.
I just feel this is hardly forum spirit, I have never had any issues like this before and can’t see why he won’t compromise.
I feel like if it was roles reversed I would have put money towards a chris king headset to avoid agro and keep my good reputation on here.
Seller has agreed to put this to the forum for opinions.

Seller cocked it up, all their fault not yours. Post it all back for a full refund and the seller should also stump up your return postage fees, it's not as if you've just gone off the idea. It's at least decent of them to agree to listen to forum opinion.
I use senditnow.com for big stuff. You can drop it off at the local post office rather than wait in for parcelforce.

Feels unkind and unfriendly... this isn't eBay or Gumtree, the classifieds are supposed to be about trade within a community where you're trying to ensure your thing is owned by someone who would appreciate it, and yet the prices are fair etc.
If they've made a genuine cut and paste error... yeah, feels like correcting that by covering the return postage is the right thing to do.
Not sure they're obliged to help you buy a Chris King headset... but definitely if they've sold something (even based on a description error) then it's on them to put it right which most reasonably is going to be to cover the return postage and refund, or to do a partial refund if you can come to an agreement about a fair discount.
NB: If the frame is worth anything, it seems reckless of them to do the lower postage cost... the refund should be full, but if they're risking bumps / loss in transit, then they will still need to refund fully... so cheap postage seems naive and reckless from a selfish point of view, surely they want to protect their property so that they may actually sell it faithfully with the right description?

Hi, seller is myself. To keep things simple as mentioned the @Wadi2 Im happy to refund the frameset and pay for the postage getting it back. Lower cost on postage meant getting it back later, however insurance is still covered. (i'll arrange for this).
I've made an honest mistake and should just refund it as this is fair.

My fair discount which I don’t even think I will get now is the £21 postage, only a lower postage cost of £8-£10
I don’t want to send the frame back As it’s perfect for what I’m after.
Thanks for the options. Much appreciated

‘Sadly I'm not a shop and don't deal with compensations’ - what?
I simply want the £21 so I can put that towards a ck headset which I’m not going to find for £21. But will help a little. I still get the frame I want and can find a ck headset off eBay or here. -

Seller is knobhead
Assuming what you say is the truth of it.
If in your advert you show a CK headset, and you mention the CK headset, you ship the thing with the CK headset. How hard is it?
Is it this? Literally has CK headset in the description.

What a time to be alive
jezus died some 2000odd years ago. were all in mourning.
but yeah dickhead move. dunno something about the interwebz that makes people behave like cunts.
had a guy on local classifieds that threw a little hissy fit when i hadnt responded in 15hrs.
promptly responded, gave him some extra pics the morning after in daylight and asked him about his thoughts. no reaction anymore.. much hypocrisy?! fecker.
