Wtd: 1" steel fork

  • On the hunt for a 1inch steel fork.

Steerer must be atleast 26cm unthreaded or 23cm threaded.

    Drilled to take a brake.

Or iv been thinking alternatively to get a 1inch disk fork made. has anyone done this before?

  • I possibly have something, but are you fussed about any particular colour or it being chromed? But maybe you've not mentioned this issue as you'd be stripping and repainting anyway.

  • Not too fussed about condition as I'll probobly just strip it or rattle can it black I'm in two minds.

Shoot me a few images when you can

  • Righto, so I've gotten around to finding the forks I was thinking of and they should be Ok for you. Looks like they're for 700c wheels, as I tried them on one and we're noticeably a closer fit than a 27" sized fork I used, although you will still need to use a brake with a fair amount of drop. And the steerer tube hasn't been cut down, so you'd need to do that if taking the fork. Here's some pics:

  • I have some tange champion 2s lying around then but tatty I will have to check steerer length

  • Could be interested in them pending steerer length, shoot me a photo when you can.

@walkmanman I think I'll pass of these looking for something the I could fit a normal brake to

  • Sure, no problem. Although if you don't like other forks offered then you could always get my one drilled out for normal brakes at most bike shops.
