I've got a light and a bike with cantilevers. It looks like the mount will interfere slightly with the brake cable. Will I die?

Yes, the first time you try to emergency brake before traffic, cliff, obstacle, spike pit, etc.

To be less of a knobhead, maybe you could mount it on the canti post itself? Might need a washer and longer bolt but it'd be pretty neat.
