  • What are the reasons people have to objecting to a Mcdonalds?

I gather the proximity to school thing is a big reason now days although most of the kids in our area get £1 fried chicken instead.

I'm interested because a friend of mine owns two McDonald's franchises and his planning applications actually received community support, on the basis of job creation for young people and somewhere safe for people to hang out. They are not in London though.

  • somewhere safe for people to hang out

Really? The Maccas here is the place I most often see with coppers out front. I guess you get security guards and CCTV at a Maccas compared to a Kentish Fried Chicken or whatever.

  • As I said, not London.

  • I got some info about crime at my friend's McDonald's Branches.

For one of his restaurants, he has an average of six police call outs per month. Usually most of those will be for theft from vehicles in the carpark and maybe one or two of those for drunken fighting inside.

His other branch is city center (Essex) and averages about three or four police call outs per month. Almost always drunken fighting.
