I noticed this in a review of an Iphone It’s also worth noting that iOS 13 includes a battery optimisation feature, which is designed to learn your habits and only charge the battery past 80% when it thinks you need it to extend its longevity.
How's this going to work in reality? How is it going to know when I'll be spending the day on the train and need as much battery as possible or whatever or have I totally missed the point of this feature?
It’s more to do with learning when you unplug in the morning - it’ll charge up to 80% and then keep it there until finishing the rest of the charge a couple of hours before you usually pick it up. The less time a battery sits at 100%, the better.
