Tbh given that most of those comments are from the US, I assume the wearers are more

In which case it's a bit more justified as you don't want your watch to look like it's clinging on for dear life with wrist rolls rising up either side.
If you're within a normal BMI I think your clothes have more impact on pulling off smaller sizes

Yeah pretty sure that big watches for big people is nonsense. I think a 34mm looks good on me and I'm a big lad.
Embrace the smallness!
