• #50404
the bentley is probably a spitfire, too...

DVLA has it down as a Bentley
-
• #50406
it might be a 50s special...

With a DNA Two50 bodyshell stuck on top, I'd imagine.

Just been out in the 911, looking at the angles I reckon I could clip a harness to the lower rear seat belt mounting points once at the track, then unclip for the journey home.

Ok interesting chat.
I'm a novice, but here are some observations.
The 250 was supposedly from 1966 which seems to be too late for a 250.
DVLA has it registered as a BMW.
I heard it running and it sounded like a V12, but I don't really know.
The interior looked old and not at all like a modern BMW.
Is is really a beemer with a body kit? That would be hilarious.

If it’s not a fake, it’s a one of one swb spider
-
• #50412
It's a Z3 based kit car
-
• #50413
ha. that explains why it looks like a Nissan Figaro

The kits usually include a new dashboard, at least as an option.
I think it actually looks pretty good. If only they left off all the fake Ferrari badging, and stopped pretending its something it isn't, I could entirely see the point.

Interesting.
What is more is that I had a conversation with him and he told me it was a '66 Ferrari 250 SWB. Also that it is a V12.
Now, I don't particularly know the guy - I've just stayed at his air BnB twice this year - but we have chatted and it turns out that he and I actually have a friend in common who lives in the area. He knew that before we talked about cars.
So, either he is bullshitting me, or bullshitting everyone or just doesn't know.
I can't believe he doesn't know, so he is a bullshitter.

Lose the fake vents, and the badges and it's not a bad roadster kit. But to pretend it's real? No way.

Under the bonnet it's going to look like this:
So either he never opens the bonnet (not impossible) or he's being a bit Walter Mitty.

Yeah, the Ferrari badge, Ferrari badged steering wheel and telling an interested 3rd party that it's a V12 original is a total dick move.
Thing is, the air BnB is brilliant and super convenient for when we visit friends and family in the area. I'm wondering about what I'll say when I see him next.
Maybe innocently ask to see the engine: "I've never seen a V12 block close up, I bet it looks amazing?" Wait....

It's made me now want to stay in said Airbnb, so all publicity is good publicity.
-
• #50420
Of course, the way out of this situation is for you to turn up in a genuine 250 SWB next time you stay.
-
• #50423
I googled it too before posting, but that’s not the same body style at all - the yellow kit car has the coupe rear end.
-
• #50424
That's the California rear end. The yellow kit has a variation of the SWB Berlinetta rear end, yep. It looks rather good, but it definitely didn't come from Modena.

Can’t believe no one has mentioned the fuck awful white walls no matter who built it.
As someone driven the bently rolled in to the post?
