Pass, chose it from a sample on the wall which was just labelled up something like "light khaki green".

• #7861
Ach nein! Cheers tho. Did you go to that place in Scaryhill in the end?
-
• #7862
Nah, this was from P&J in Thornliebank.
Annoyingly though they trashed a rack I made soon after this so wouldn't recommend them.
There's a wheel place in ek I'ma try next.

Anyone ever swapped out their pomp dropouts for geared? I know you can get a little hanger to stick in... Was wondering on the best way to turn the pomp into a proper 130mm geared back end (and disc while I'm at it).
@M_V ? I know there's an old thread where @Hulsroy did it but it raised the back end about 15mm or so with some custom inserts things...
-
• #7864
Nah mine is still 120. The way the ends are designed might make it not too difficult a job though.
A flat dropout slotted into the ends of the stays would probably gain you like 5mm per side

.

• #7866
Yeah. It almost seems like the ends are designed to bring a 130mm frame down to 120mm. Weren't the frames back then shared between the pomp and the kaffenback? I still use a kaffenback fork.

There was even a 130 or 135mm spaced Pomp wasn't there? Had a hub gear I think. No idea what the ends on it looked like.

I use a 130mm wheel in a 120mm v4 Pompino with no probs, just since it's what I had lying around.
Got a Pompetamine too, can confirm it's 135mm with cable guides for Alfine and fork ends similar to the Pompino.
For the effort to do it properly I'd just see if you can get an old Kaffenback frame, generally go for under Β£60.

My method improved handling imo but ment respacing the dropouts quite a bit and using size 48 shoes ment a bit of heelstrike. But I rode it like that for a good while.

There was. Pre-Pompetamine, so no cable guides.

Did you make your own sliders?
Keep coming back to this, mainly to raise BB but also get the wheel out from under my arse.
Paragon sliders look hot to trot?

Cheers - did you mean this link?https://www.flickr.com/photos/flapcrack/14690341353/in/album-72157696043572940/
I think the cold setting shouldn't be a huge issue. It's just testing my TIG skills in brazing the dropouts. Or I guess it's more my fixturing accuracy skills.

I need to strip the frame anyway because I want to add triple cable guides over the TT ...
It's a faff, but butchering the pomp will be a good test.

Yes. I ripped of theirs completely. With a bit of mods theirs could work.
It was a Glasgow Green CC thing, around the route of the Dukes Weekender. Was an ace time!
