How do you make it worthwhile if you got to pay rrp for parts?

For those waiting, smaller circlip forn3 speed is incoming!

Also coming is a stiffer spring for the DR 2 speed!

I noticed mine isn't very stable anymore when folded, wondered if changing two of the easy wheels back to stock might firm it up a bit...

We get basic parts from Brompton but as we’re not a dealer we have to wait ages for them. Anything else we either get from you or Bikefix. We make money on pads, tyres and other consumables and labour. We’re in north London and there’s too many bromptons to turn down the work, tbh. It’s ridiculous, 3 of us have Brommies yet we can’t get parts for our own bikes!

It is and it isn’t, if your not a trek dealer it’s a faff to get bits...

Is it possible to put the stock Brompton seatpost too high? When I set mine it feels like there isn’t much post left in the frame. Does the flare stop any frame damage?

Having said that, I like that it sits a bit high now... More clearance and I haven't had to cut the mudguard back as it clears the ground when I unfold now...

No, the stock insert stops it being too high!

Front wheel off the floor, same issue I had with the electric, make the front wheel/tyre lighter or make the back wheel non drive heavier ;)

For anyone who has the kinetics fork. How do you get the mudguard stay that fits around the axle on the NDS to stay in place and not leave the hook that keeps the front in place when folded too high up? I've got mine jammed under the QR but can't fit the washer and little thing it sits inside without leaving the QR quite a distance away from the lips on the fork, which worries me.

Seems it's either low enough to keep the front end hooked to the frame when folded but brakes squeal, or pull the stay a little higher and get a crap fold but no squealing.

Would i be better off using a 9mm thru axle QR? I've got a novatec d791 so end caps aren't hard to come by and I've got a 9mm QR axle kicking around somewhere...

Next question is, got slight play in rear triangle up and down, as if the rear suspension block was a few mil too short. What's causing this/ how to fix?

was in covent garden on the weekend looking at the explore bag, which is really nice, like a courier version of the s bag, with a roll top opening. Nice large pockets, interesting magnetic catches.
would buy separately, but only comes with the explore bike.

What block have you got, is it clipped and unclipped.

Like many others I've seen, I've put a soft rubber packing piece to prevent the tapping/rattling. Works a treat and doesn't interfere with any other function that I can see.

Where, on the seat tube or in the suspension block?

Completely normal, you can fix it but it’s not “correct”

I have an Oooooold Brompton, early nineties vintage (a T5 model fans). I also have a new brompton. I know that the old one needs a seatpost sleeve. I assume it probably also needs its rear triangle hinge doing. Does anyone have a ballpark figure for those items, I am trying to work out if it is worth doing.
