• Hello,

I've got two dutch bikes with dynamo lights that are not working, both on shimano hubs. I'm near Canonbury station, so anywhere nearby would be best but work in Farringdon so that works too.

Willing to cycle further for someone reliable that won't charge more than the bike's worth to fix it.

    Thank you

  • Mark at SBC in Cropley Street.

  • I’m 5 mins from Canonbury, in Stoke Newington Church St, Two Wheels Good. Dutch bike dynamos a speciality.

  • Cheers mate, how much should I expect to spend on average to get a front light working?

For instance if it's just the bulb. Or just a faulty connection? Or what you have seen from experience to be the most common issue you fix?

    Cheers

  • Are they both front lights only? Then it’s a fairly simple process. It’s simply a matter of elimination. Firstly I’d check the filament, as that’s the main cause. Then I’d check the output from the hub, then the wiring. Rear lights are a bit more tricky due to wiring, poor earths etc. Rewiring a complete system is around £50, but for smaller jobs we usually charge pro-rata based on our hourly rate of £40 p/h.
But yeah, it’s usually the filament!
