My first thought was also why not buy an Ingenieur instead.

My minds tongue trips over the name Ingenieur... Frustrating.

£720 is $886, so you are only saving $40

It’s poor design as far as I can tell. The two halves wobble a bit when you push them. It also just doesn’t look good - it either needs to be absolutely perfectly flush, or just accept there’s a join there and bevel the edges.

The whole thing is desperately trying to look expensive and ends up looking cheaper than their £2500 watches.

Killing time today wandered into an Omega boutique to look at Speedys, and as ejay predicted they've put the prices up again; a moonwatch is now an even four grand. I still really want one, but at the moment that's out of my budget - what's a reasonable ballpark figure for a good second-hand one?

I paid $2650 for mine with no box or papers. Great condition. Hesalite. 3570.50. Still doable at that price.

Just to add, at $500 they are much steeper than the Marlin but they have much better movement in.

I noticed that Rotary are starting to make some nice mechanical retro pieces but they are just priced too high for what's inside.

Not convinced. Dauphine hands on a bauhaus style dial seems a little incongrous. Overdone the text and also not a fan of the date window.

Agree on the text but I think they get away with it.
