Guilty! I searched for years for a good condition 2447N, I eventually found one earlier this year with a perfect dial and unpolished case. Had some help from the forum shifting several omegas to fund it but it happened.

For myself I'd go for the panda dial. I love my speedmaster but the Heuer is the cool sidekick to the serious speedy... If that makes any sense?

Phwoar. Heuer (and UG) vintage chronos are the bomb. How robust are they - do you wear that about day to day?

Sorry for going from the sublime to the ridiculous, but I just checked out that new Bell & Ross. It is - and I cannot emphasise this strongly enough - absolutely not a four grand watch. Nothing about it lives up to the (£3990) price tag. It’s too thick, the movement is a Sellita with a custom rotor, the brushing is very average and the clasp doesn’t close flush. Hard pass.

On the subject of watches that either look good in photos but are shit on the wrist, or watches that look shit in photos but are amazing in person, I'm very curious about these. Might see if Alsal will get one in for me.

Almost before I’d sat down the salesman said something like “we’d be able to do a deal on this today”. They’re going to struggle to shift them. Unless people are genuinely unable to tell the difference between this and an Omega, Grand Seiko or Rolex. I dunno.

The NS and SN (panda dials) are like rocking horse shit. Anything good is locked away in a collection, anything on the open market is either way overpriced or a parts watch (or both). For example the NST you just posted has had a polished case and the subdials aren’t particularly clean, it’s in ok / good condition but it wouldn’t make me drop my knickers. There are a lot of 2447 S’s around tho and prices seem to generally reflect this.

I’d quite like an 2447 SN or a Heuer Abercrombie and Fitch but I’m saving next for a nice UG Nina which will scratch the panda dial itch.

Anything this rare (very few were actually made, and the original condition makes it all the more valuable) is unfortunately too risky to wear everyday or even on rotation. I do wear it out, but perhaps only every few months.

If I’m lucky this piece will significantly appreciate. There’s no reason they won’t eventually price around the same mark as early Daytonas which ten years ago were around the same price but now comfortably fetch £70-£100k... I live in hope!

Is the deployant issue a design thing or just a faulty part issue? Incredible if it's the former! Agree, it seems crazy money - the bracelet looks quite cool, rubbish deployant aside, and I like the minute/hour hands design but everything else is pretty meh (and the vast expanse of bezel(?) metal on the four corners really doesn't do it for me).

Yeah I also saw this in the flesh last week and agree, didn't try it on. The finish is also way too glitzy in real life too, cheapens the whole thing even more and makes £4ooo seem like madness when compared to both Tudor and Rolex. Bet your OP could smell it on you, ha.

I have a yearning for a Junghans stopwatch. I've no idea what I'd use it for but I do like the look of them. I also know bugger all about them, I may have to do some research before venturing onto Ebay.

Also love the whole AD vs Grey Market bollocks. My AD is selling a used Tudor - Harrods Edition for £4600!
