  • Job hunting.
    Recruiters who ghost you after an interview. Maybe I'm hideously ugly.

  • With the sheer scale of applications that any job gets, it's not unreasonable to not follow up a CV submission and explain rejection. But if you take a candidate as far as face-to-face, you damn well should follow up. Even if they get no further than phone interview, it's good to at least give them an idea of the time frame in which a decision about the next step will be made so they can enquire if they hear nothing after that.

    So many places

    1. are shit at recruitment
    2. only think of their needs and not the applicant's
    3. have a delusional belief that their organisation is so awesome that applicants should be grateful to have been considered at all
    4. have no concept of the reputational damage from their shit behaviour
