• Picked up this nice SL1300mk2 at the weekend. Can I just swap this plug for a UK one? It says 250v on it, possibly Italian?

  • It looks like a type of plug I used to have on a rack of 80's hifi. They plugged into a mini 4 way adaptor. Probably best to check the deck has the correct power supply or that it's switched to 240v if it has 110/250v possibilities. On the 1210 that's pretty clear but the power supply switch is under the platter.

  • Ah cheers, yep, it was under there. It's in the 220-240 position. Will swap a new plug in and get it running. Hoping the auto cue still works, apparently these were problematic.

My folks had this on their Marantz, and I'm so sure I put it to one side but could never find it again. They're such a brilliant solution to the multitude of plugs that come with separates. Altho I wonder how many people have that many decks anymore...amp, tuner, CD, tape, MD, record anyone?

@Silly_Savage - When I put a new CD player and tape deck in for them I switched the stock UK plugs for those to match up with the rest of the system. Other than electrocuting myself by plugging a plug with the cover off to get a CD out, there were no problems. However, I never put a stock UK plug on any of the older separate components, so couldn't comment that way round.
