Top of the league!

Kante out injured as well as many others.
Barkley starts which is never good.
Will be delighted if we can nick a point.

Top of league!
Boing boing.

ooof, that was the toughest game for a good while, was doubtful we could break them down for the vast majority of that game, bit of luck in the end got us three points,
celebrated that goal more than last minute and champions league winning goals

Top of league!
Boing boing.
You can never take those glorious 16 hours away from me.
-
• #151382
True.
We might not even get 3 hours given there are a few teams who can overtake us.

Barkley is a knob... Promises so much, delivers very little... And keeps losing the ball because he's too busy fucking around on the edge of the box...

Aaaaand, we’re no longer top of the league

And we’re back!
Leeds away on Tuesday night won’t be easy. Finding a bar in Greece which is showing the game will be even harder!

Squeaked through against the run of play.

Managed to get past Southampton, despite auriers red card.
Ndombele’s something special.
Enjoyed the match with the rest of the spurs crew, watching on a laptop in the ship.
So nerve wracking playing with ten men and trying to defend and counter as we all know 2-1 is the most dangerous scoreline..
Good to see we got a morale boosting result, which will hopefully lead into the match against Bayern midweek.. -

Enjoyable day out at Villa on Saturday. Didn't play great in the first half but changed the shape a bit with a half-time sub and a draw was probably a fair result in the end. Think Villa may have enough to stop up but they'll need to cut down on the number they concede and hold onto some leads.
Had to pay £2 to get into the pub pre-match but it was probably about £2 a pint cheaper than London and it had jerk chicken so all was good.

loving seeing Leicester and West Ham in top four. hope it stays that way after the game tonight. proving to be a cracking season already.

No half time balti pie?
Not sure why we're not managing to close games down - as you say, dropping too many points from winning positions (even allowing for VAR hating us), but think we should have enough over the season. Need to start converting leads soon though.

You’re making me feel guilty about enjoying MUFC’s current struggles.
It alarming that MUFC are at the best off financially that they’ve ever been, the current woes won’t knock on for years. The Glaziers don’t give a shit, sit back make money even though the fans are in despair.

They'll start to take an interest if and when the CL places are skipped for two seasons on the trot.

ha, don't feel guilty dude. enjoy it. really like the way the hammers are playing at the moment.
I want united to beat Arsenal tonight so you can stay fourth. but am happy for united to finish mid or lower table - though won't be doing any of this nonsense Clive is doing pretending Chelsea are a small club and in trouble.
united need to have a proper regroup. Pogba and Matic can leave next thanks. give olly a season. if he fucks up really badly then back to manager merry go round

Lol. That was tiring last season - can't believe he's still persisting.
Onto talking about your own team etc; it's been a whirlwind start to the season with no losses and only our first clean sheet this weekend. We're top of the league and looking really dangerous but still have a shaky defence.
Not looking forward to tomorrow night's away trip to Leeds...

None of last season's top 4-5 have looked anywhere near as good this season as they did last, but Liverpool have still managed to get the wins, which is rather ominous. Can't wait to see how
they throw it away this timeit all pans out. -

Top six and a good run in the cups and I’d be more than happy.
I said this a couple of months ago and still stand by it today. Even more so considering how well Leicester and West Ham are playing. We could easily finish outside the top 8 if we go on a bad run. Outside of Liverpool and City it seems wide open.

Sky Sports rolling out some stat about Arsenal not winning against "The Big 6".
Can anyone explain the relevance of this to tonight's game?
-
• #151399
I thought Arsenal were one of the big six? Used to be big 4 before Tottenham got good and Man City got rich. It’s a nothing stat. Everton hadn’t won against the ‘big six’ in ages until we suddenly beat Chelsea, Arsenal and United in the space a month or two last season.

This line is so superb that it needs to be preserved. One day, when the history of the LFGSS Football thread is uncovered by data archaeologists, this line will form the basis of an entire chapter.
Last time clubs did that in the Beverage Cup it was just a fine, no-one was expelled.
