Extra points for incorporating the original orange!
-
• #2159
It was red before. Basecolor is white and yellow and orange are flourescent. It is a lot brighter in the sun.

650b conversion? Straggler fork?
Rear brake posts OK?
-
• #2162
Tektro Oryx with beefy Kool Stops works, had to file 1mm. It's fine. Always depends on the frame, rim width, brake pads
Fork is Disc Trucker.
Back brake is what it is. The front is where it's at. The bike in general is perfect for me and its purpose. Fork and frame work really nice.

The guy who build this is 60+, used to own a tandem shop and now rides a lot of deparment store bikes. He's planning on taking this on a 200km trip.
-
• #2164
As a retired shop owner wouldn’t he have access to better bikes/frames?
Or is it just to prove a point? -
• #2165
Oh, he does have nice bikes. Including a custom made mtb tandem.
I think he does it to prove a point.
This is at least the third different setup I've seen of his. -

klunkin aint easy

Although I must confess the handlebar position can't be comfortable at that angle.
-
• #2168
Yeah that reminds me of all the newsboy repros out there with the stupid wide bars set so that the ends are pointing up at a 45 angle.

Is there any drop-bar adventure/monstercross/gravel/expedition bike available with 26' wheels apart from LHT? My GF is 5'3'' and I am looking for a bike for her, with wheels preferably smaller than 700c/29'' to avoid toe overlap etc. Could be 650b (I found Marin Four Corners already) as well.

Any 90s MTB... -

Someone on here has some super functional German brand of frame, looks a lot like a Thorn. Can't remember the name though... helpful.

Intec
-
• #2174
It’s probably the tank that @MisterMikkel built you are referring to
-
• #2175
Yeah, I have an Intec M1 Disc..
But it seems that Bike24 has stopped selling them so I don't know where you can get your hands on one..
Also, they are really heavy.
No, but "pricey" and "blue lug" go together very nicely indeed.
