Every time! Just can’t help themselves with the blackface. Is it an inherent compulsion or something?

I almost feel like we need to declare an amnesty. Anyone who confesses between now and Kwanza of past blackface demeanours will be absolved, no questions asked then after that death by pile on and cancellation.

I've never blackfaced but there are things I said and did when I was a kid and young adult that I deeply regret and am ashamed of which would no doubt be ammunition for enemies should I run for prime minister of Canada.
There, out in the open now.

I did, in a school play. I also went to see the B&W minstrel show. All before the age of ten.

Doesn't that feel better already guys, keep it coming!

The closest I've come was playing Joseph in my kindergarten nativity play (no blacking up involved). That's ok though because (as any US evangelist will tell you) Jesus was definitely white.

I once played a snowflake in the school nativity. Had to wear a leotard and dance like a falling snowflake.
Explains a lot tbh.

I did once as Jimi Hendrix. Took me a long time to find a suitable blouse too! I think I was just trying to out do everyone. I must have been somewhere between 16-20. One of my more liberal friends who still lives in the village/ town I grew up in took great pleasure in reminding me of this when the Trudeau story broke.
Lead us to discussion of this t-shirt....

It should not have taken me as long as it did to realise what is wrong with that tshirt. Long sigh.
In my defence, I tend not to read things.

It's obvious. The surname is spelled incorrectly.

One insurance company is doing something similar to this already, pulling in pretty much everything they can find about you on the internet and using AI to formulate that into a home or car insurance premium.
