  • Ta looks good I have read magazine bits and stuff online but that looks a good read. The attention to detail on some of the clothing is brilliant, I esp love having a dig at second hand places there just isn't that option here in HK. Thanks for the info. 👍

  • Yeah, I still haven't managed to get to Japan due to life stuff and it kills me inside.

I am heading to Los Angeles next weekend though and am attending Rose Bowl Flea Market for the second time - literally some of the best vintage I've ever seen. The last time I went, I made the mistake of turning up at 9.30 and a lot of the good stuff was gone. Loads of guys over from Japan with huge duffel suitcases full of stuff by the time I got there.

Have booked early bird tickets this time to get in at 7.

There's also Mister Freedom, where, along with their fantastic new stuff, there's a killer collection of vintage, too. Very excited to have a dig at both locations.

I am looking for a non-repro of one of these WWII US Army Denim pullovers but finding one is highly unlikely... and sure to be big bucks.. I've only ever seen them in Japan and not for sale. Buzz Rickson's and Real McCoys have both made repro's in recent years and I'd settle for one of those but I can't find one of them either!

As seen here on Mister Freedom owner's blog, no less:

  • Amazing really want to get to the Rose bowl one day. I can just imagin the guys with suitcases rolling back to japan with treasure ! that smok shirt is v nice. I picked up a pair of rickson Tiger stripe strides bit pricey but been after a version for ages. Be sure to post up some pics of the Rose Bowl stuff. ^ nice photo
Have a great time in LA

  • My mate, Jasja, has an incredible vintage clothing store in San Diego, he'll probably be at the Rose Bowl too... Check him out...

  • I too need to visit the Rose Bowl flea at some point in my life. Vintage shopping out in Japan is insane but it made me realise that the reason it's fairly poor everywhere else is because everything ends up in Japan. I could have bought so much North American military and workwear stuff out there which is funny as I always thought I'd be able to do that in Toronto before I moved here.
