Has meme been resolved yet?

It's a stretch to say me posting that meme was tantamount to the normalisation of rape.
Actually, now I've typed it, it's fucking ridiculous.

Fair enough. Everybody has aired their views.
You have quite clearly nailed your colours to the it's ok to post rape jokes and then use a homophobic insult in response to somebody complaining post.
Others have pointed out that the making or reposting of rape jokes on the internet contributes to the normalisation of rape culture, a view shared by the vast majority of professionals working with sex assault victims and people working to reduce internet hate crime.
I'm quite happy for the public record to show I'm in the latter camp and not the former.
Memes.

-
• #82788

Given that the joke would have "worked" for any physical crime it seems daft to suggest that it's normalising anything.
This...
"Woman who falsely accused 15 men of throwing her off a bridge jailed for 10 years"
"Looks it it would have been a 15 man job, lol!"
...wouldn't seem like a normalisation of throwing people off bridges, because it's just a fat joke (albeit a crap one).

You're assuming that a) all physical crimes are equivocal, both psycologically for a victim and in how crimes are percieved and perpetuated, and b) making glib fat jokes is OK. Memes.

Yeah, I'm just not convinced that it deserves the outrage that a straightforward rape joke does, because it's obviously a joke about her weight. It's still shit, but then so is she.

^ Honey, kids, some rape jokes are ok!
Thanks for clearing that up.
My (x) is a (y), therefore how could I possibly be (z).
