Planet X's Fibonacci sale has quite a few of the jack brown/rivendell tyres as well as wired Paselas for £13.
I've been using the Rolly Poly 28mm for commuting and they're great. Excellent for £26 a pair.

They’ve also dropped their nitto stuff again. Got myself a pearl (or NP as it’s now called) and a seatpost for £35 each

I’ve written a blog post about finding great bike deals.

Any feedback to make the post better would be greatly appreciated? Did I miss any good sources or tips/tricks?
Thanks -

Stop buying shit you don’t need! Beware of addiction.

So so true.
My name is Ivor, and I’m a bike addict. -

Not sure if this should go here or in coffee but if anyone fancies a free coffee today (and I appreciate there may be some against this)

Actually 50 / 34t Campagnolo 10 speed chainrings so good value even if you just need the chainrings and bolts.
I was going to buy then read about how much work is required to change the BB.
What a pain!

Very wise. Powertoque is awful to work on. Campag never made a tool to remove the bearings. The Park Tool version was rubbish (I broke at least two).
Not sure if they resolved it. Its 5 years since I worked on one.

Nabbed for chainrings - cheers!
(Anyone want a pair of mismatched crank arms for P+P?)

I worked in Bristol for a while, one shop, 1 year, over 20 pairs went in the bin, swapped out for £50 Shimanos.
Never again does sram touch my bikes except chains!

SRAM or Avids? I agree the Avid range was crap, but I gather the newer SRAM branded ones are a lot better.
I know Avid were owned by SRAM and I agree with the sentiment - I have a No More SRAM policy, including chains.
-
• #3523
At that point sram, a lot of avid too but I made a point of counting as our sales rep came in and was preaching how they had solved all there issues bla bla bla

My LBS's view is that both Shimano and SRAM seem to fail with roughly the same frequency but Shimano tend to fail just within the warranty period, or carry on for ages, whereas SRAM fail just after the warranty period.

Only Shimano I have known to be an issue are the 785 callipers, swap those out and job done.
