Sancineto Columbus Frame + Forks 🌶️

Posted on
  • Regretfully selling my Sancineto road frameset. It's one of my favourite bikes, but it's just a couple of cms too small!

Here it is built up with Campagnolo 10 speed:

More info about Sancinento here. This frame is probably from the mid 90s.

    Sizing

    • Top tube 56cm CTC
    • Seat tube 56cm CTC
    • 1" threaded steerer
    • 27.0mm seat post (apparently some frame builders would flip the seat tube for better ride characteristics. Varonha frameworks can bore this out to 27.2mm for £30)
    • Clearance for 700x27c tyres (but only just!)
    • 130mm rear spacing
    • Braze-on FD

    Good Points

    • Columbus Thron tubing
    • Internal cable routing
    • Columbus drop outs
    • Spicy paintwork with fades, lazers and Italian signatures
    • Chrome on most of the rear triangle and fork blades

    Bad Points

    • Various paint chips (see pictures for the worst)
    • Tiny shallow dent in top tube (pic)
    • Slight bulge at the top of the seat tube where someone tried to force a larger seat post. The clamp works perfectly when using the correct sized post, so this is only a visual issue. Still, thought you should know. Again, see the pictures.

Asking £250 collected from South London. sold

I can also include the seat post (this one) for an extra £5.

  • Peugeot often did that on their 753 Perthus Pro frames...so a 26.8mm seatpost was needed....GLWS.

  • lovely - is the campag group for sale?

  • @mattyc not at the moment. its a mix and match of veloce, chorus and record but works surprisingly well

  • Pm’d

  • I'm glad this is not my size, I can't buy more bikes. GLWS

  • Amazing frame

  • Shpice galore. Would buy in a heartbeat if it was slightly taller.

  • Very nice! Sancineto make some of the finest frames around. I believe the paintwork is by dossena carlo

  • "dossena" is going straight to my ebay alerts!

  • Another painter well worth checking out is mario martini! http://www.frameteller.it/2016/03/31/martini-verniciatura/ Enjoy :)

Good luck with the sale! i would have went for this if i didn't already have a sancineto max en route to my house.

  • Sancineto Max

I saw one at a jumble last Sunday (size 60 at the very least) and it was a thing of beauty, even with a regular paint job. Do post yours when it's arrived.

  • PMd

  • How has this still not sold!!?
    If only a little bigger.

  • Dossena-like Paintjob. Originals have the triangle logo "varnished by.."
Still a very bautiful paintjob and fair prizing.
    GLWS

  • Do you mind me asking how tall you are? Struggling to decide on a size as my previous ~60cm bikes have felt big for me at ~6'1''.

  • I'm 6-2 with an ape index ~1.0 and found this frame a few cms too low for me. the top tube length was good though.

  • Cheers, although it's a beauty sounds like I best avoid getting something too small!

  • I hear you. This was clearly too small for me when I bought it, but couldn't resist the paint work!

  • ... ❤️
