Yeah it's a bit weird, but my calipers say 28.5mm. Ritchey stem has a 31.8mm clamp. I just tried it with some actual bars.

They would fit any square taper BB with ISO tapers. These BBs are made by Campagnolo (e.g. one for sale above), Token, Phil Wood and a few others.

The length required depends on the chainline of your frame.

Fwiw I use miche primato iso cranks with a jis BB with zero issues. Sheldon is a little misleading in this particular instance -

Interesting info.

I was always worried about ruining the cranks (particularly vintage Campag ones) so I played it safe with an ISO BB.

If you feel confident a JIS BB would not damage the cranks then go for it!
