I've fitted wheels like that. They're generally pretty awful. Need a lot of truing. Also its more difficult to get a good freewheel nowadays. Tends to be an awful lot of crap that wobbles about all over the place.
Probably ok for a beater if you true it up.
I'd spend a bit more and get a base model cassette hub and name brand rim personally. Madison used to do a Deore hub to Mavic rim for about £70. I'd not go much below that personally (but then I ride my beaters more than my nice bikes). I spent a bit more and got something with Novatec hubs.
On our 26 inch functional beater rides are we all buying new 26er wheels or scouring the bay? I'm wary of getting a lemon considering I can get a new one for £20 from Tredz
