  • This is true; it's almost like he hasn't been told!

  • Hahaha, yes. He’s known as Ben... (long pause)... Youngs amongst my mates.

  • Uruguay. 25-1 to win that. Jeez...

  • It was a bit of a suprise to see that result.

But I'm still fuming about Scotland's weak arse capitulation to Ireland that has cost us 2 players so I can't appreciate it ATM.

  • Incredible. My pal, after reading an article (will get him to send it to me) which basically went through why this particular correspondent thought Uruguay would beat Fiji had a big lump on Uruguay to cover the handicap. It seems ridiculous to say and I'm sure most will disagree but to me it honestly seems like a second team friendly when the team has got a big piss up planned and a night out after the game. they were literally walking everywhere and would you slinging the ball anywhere even 10 metres from their own goal line. it really came across as they gave you a guy absolutely no respect until about 65 minutes when the mathematics dawned on them! I mean it was absolutely unbelievable and I suspect there's every chance they'll be a number of players that won't pull on that shirt for quite some time - that's not to take anything away from Uruguay who were clinical in everything they did and managed to smash Semi when leading top 14 and rugby championship players can't seem to!

  • After going to Rome in February to watch Italy vs Wales in the 6 nations with Mrs Deth I've convinced her on the 2020 instalment.
Hopefully Newport and Cardiff will as enjoyable as Naples and Rome...

  • Always wanted to take Mrs Spumante to a 6N match esp Italy away, London 7s etc but she hates rugby.

Soooo. Ireland and Argentina both by about 15-20??

  • Take her to Rome. Mrs Bobbo, who also hates rugby, came with me one year and enjoyed it so much she started watching rugby, for a while at least.

  • Tbilisi for that Georgian scrum... ;)

Third vote for Rome. Shame they don’t play at Stadio Flaminio any more. That was ace, even if some of it was made out of scaffolding. Olympic stadium is a way out (it snowed a few years back and they cancelled all transport, which was fun!). But it’s still Rome.

Murrayfield is nicely situated in the centre of town too. And Edinburgh is a nice place to visit.

Or left-field suggestion - a big Top14 game in southern France (when all the stars are back from RWC)? Toulon is very close to some very nice bits of the south coast (likewise Montpellier). Could get over to St Tropez and Cannes, if you’re willing to travel around a bit?

  • Rome is a great sweetener.
We left it too late on the flights and they were too spendy. Ended up staying in Naples 1st night, train to Rome stayed near the stadium, then back to Naples for another night.
Was a nice adventure, but Rome is nicer than Naples.

I expressed and interest in visiting all the grounds at some point and it's now turning into an annual affair.
Although I hate Dublin so that might be a reluctant trip for completism.

  • My Dad and brother went to tiblisi for the Scotland warm up match, they flew out and back with the team. Both highly rated the trip and especially tiblisi.

  • Didn’t get to watch rugby there, but v highly rate Tbilisi. Lovely city, loads to see/do, great food, beer, wine. Looked like there was plenty of nightlife which I didn’t sample.

  • Come on Ireland!!!!

  • So, in the couple of seasons it's been a rule, I have NEVER seen the play the ball within 6 seconds when set at the back of a breakdown enforced. I'm surprised opposition (when it suits them) aren't counting to force the ref to give them a scrum. Regularly the ball is at the base for 15 seconds and frequently 5 or 6 seconds after the referee says "play it now." Just change or revoke the rule. Just put it under unsportsmanlike conduct if the ref feels there's timewasting, oh, or enforce it. Just one free-kick/scrum awarded would be all it needs for other refs to enforce it and every other team to quicken it up.

  • Happened once last season in the Prem to Bristol. Andy Uren pinged, I think. And yes, that’s it!

  • Got distracted when Ire went ominously 12-3 up.
Rejoined at 12-9 with Japanese technique forcing Ireland into defence.

  • Japan dominating territory/play/possession. Conditioned to think Ireland will find a way to win but all the momentum with Japan

  • Ireland seem slow but maybe Japan are really quick. Line speed is the difference at the mo.

    Come on Ireland!

  • Amazing from Japan

  • A careless offside by Ire punished with the converted penalty to give Japan a 7pt lead,
and, chew up another 90 seconds. Ire will be lucky to save this.

  • Get in. Well done Japan.

  • Ooops.

  • Brilliant, just brilliant

  • Sensible tactics by Ire to avoid SA in the quarters. Professional performance.

  • Do the best 3rd place team qualify?
