I’m happy with my surly. It’s expensive but not crazily so (especially if the other option is from Paul).
And I’ve been told afterwards I could have used some niche mtb hub (downhill? Freestyle? I was told the exact name and forgot) that are disc/fixed as the freewheel is on the cranks.
