  • But is it really needed unless you weigh a lot? And are mtb thru axle standards the same as road thru axle standards? Imo its easier to only own wheels which have replaceable axle standards. You'll be changing the tyres if youre swapping wheels with a mtb so only takes an extra couple of seconds to swap the wheel axles

  • Yeah that's fair. I had a 2014 equilibrium disc with qr and it was fine, I guess I just wanted bolt thru as it's a more up to date standard.

  • Yeah does make sense. Definitely more future proof, as long as you can find a frame that fits all your requirements
