planning a cycling trip to the Eifel region in Germany next weekend, so we'll have to set the alarms early for the rides I think :-/

I don't know if anyone else was sad enough to watch the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen today, but it was interesting to see Cavendish in the lead group of 25-30 riders that was formed when Quick-Step tore the race apart in the wind with 40 kms to go. He was clearly enjoying the racing, and sacrificed his own chances in the final kilometre by trying to bring back the late break to set up the sprint for his team mate, Nizzolo.

good start at the Worlds :) although I'm wondering when the mixed relay teams will consist of only real specialist male & female tt'ers

Also proper solid effort by the British men and women.
TT circuit looks properly mean, especially in the rain. -

indeed. it was brutal! hard to pace oneself I'd imagine. It's going to be a fun week.

Rohan Dennis watch: aus cycling had a vid on insty of him warming up on a BMC road bike. The plot thickens

Got a link as I can’t seem to see it on their feed

Aus cycling team insty story. I'm sure we shall see more in the coming days. I've strangely fascinated by it

Like a boss
Super impressed by this guy today, well worth watching if you haven't.
(Not pro cycling I know, but I'm sure he will be sooner rather than later).

Had he not had the mechanical, he would have absolutely smashed everyone.
Being furious does add at least 10w though. -
• #24520
That's the thing though, considering the terrible start he was ridiculously composed. To me that shows a lot of maturity for someone that young. Then an amazing ride once he was back on the bike, weaving through the team cars.

I completely back them on this. Near knee length aerosock overshoe things on show when racing at the weekend. (Some) free watts to provide an advantage and a whole load of ugliness.

Chuffed to bits to see him win the Junior TT, did anyone else notice he put his Garmin down the front of his skinsuit as his back up bike didn't have a mount fitted.

Not only non-team bike but helmet too

Dangerous to have riders out on the course surely.
Predictions for Men's World Champs
Michael Matthews is going to win and hippy won't let us forget it.
Betancur top 5 with a late but futile attack
Van shaun da paul will try and break everyone with brute strength but the smarter moves will prevail. Or he'll get a puncture
