Deore standard.
Steer clear of XT's a number of us have had failures/warranties that result in long walks home.

It's about 30 or 35 each depending if you need caliper protection or just for the rotor.

Building up a x life Scorpio frame got a set of 700c chukkers and 26 “ tobestreib with demolition hubs
No sure which way to go
Looking for a set of forks for a rotor alsoWant to fit a hydraulic disc

I'll say 26" is probably best as you can run thicker tyres.
Forks wise you're probably looking at 410mm axle to crown.
Get your hydro routed through the head tube and go for Shimano, you'll never go wrong with them. 2 years warranty (XT and below),3 years for XTR.
IF bling is what you're after then get Hope.

Thanks for advice

Hmmm... Seems like the frame has negative BB drop.
Do you have the frame and fork geometry? Failing that do you have the original forks?
-
• #8470
Neither on both counts
Been using as a pub bike have been running with a set of fu manchu brakeless
The originals I wiped out on they are now in the big house in the skyHad the frame a while can’t remember where I picked it up think is intended use was for fgfs
Presume it’s from Taiwan but never really found much info on it -

Deore m6000 are best value. Beware deore and upper tier models all have ceramic pistons which are fragile if you jam your rotor into them when changing wheels or try to push them back in with a screwdriver, they crack and then spray a fine mist of hydro oil over everything, see it every week in my workshop. Its not that they are faulty, just been used a bit harshly.
Alivio/acera MT400 sort of level are like £30 a brake, don't have servo wave (some folks don't like the immediate bang of power) or ceramic pistons. change the stock resin pads for quality sintered not ebay specials and you'll have a solid reliable cheap brake.

Stock resin pads are the best, deore ain't ceramic either are they? Just above.
Now sorted
