The LFGSS team arrow was the 400 I've enjoyed most.
Can probably think of a few tweaks for next year. Mostly to do with pacing rather than route, though.

Oh FFS I will be away for Easter 2020, as it's very early :-/
Maybe an alternate arrow later in the year when it's less freezing?

I’m looking at stepping up the distances I’m doing to try some 300 and 400k Audaxes.
I’ve done loads of sportives over the years including liege Bastogne liege and La Ronde both at full distance.
Any advice on training to step up to these longer distances? -

Just keep going

If you can do a 200km ride and not feel broken at the end of it you should get around a 300km ride (although you may feel broken at the end of the first one you do).
Lather, rinse and repeat for subsequent steps up.
There's no real specific training you can do other than just more time in the saddle.
When I was doing 300km+ Audaxes the majority of my training was 20km a day of pan-flat London commuting during the week and then whatever other Audaxes I was riding ever 2-4 weekends.

Weekly yoga or pilates helps with comfort on the bike. Having a stronger core and some flexibility in your hips is what you are aiming for. Once you can ride 200km the rest is just sitting on the bike.

You don't know the issues you'll face until you face them.
Keep eating, keep pedaling, deal with issues early rather than let them escalate into show stoppers.

Any yoga/stretches people can do at home?
I’m skint and the only bread winner in our house at the moment so any top tips would be ideal.

Have a look at Chaz/Yogamazing videos on youtube. I like his sets. Warning: I've never done proper yoga so I'm sure all the yogis will be screaming at this suggestion to do youtube yoga.. but it works quite well for stretching shit out :)

Also, I want rid of a Yogafit for Cyclists DVD..
I have a Yoga for Cyclists book but it's easier to watch video sessions so I use the book for addressing specific issues.

Cheers - will check out that YouTube link.
No DVD player in our house. Lots of dvds. But no working player.

Laptop?
-
• #9815
Nope. Laptop has no cd drive.
It’s like a really dull black mirror episode.
EDIT - hold on a minute, my PS3 can play something other that FIFA2014.
Genuinely life changing event this.

Yes

YouTube is pretty good to give you an idea of stuff. Try to do an hour as the warm up bits and relaxation at the end are all part of the process of getting your joints and muscles to move.
Be careful if you are hypermobile. Just be aware if you are to protect your joints and don’t over stretch them. Look it up and test each joint.
Also, this guy is great: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0ZcKhTAd5R/?igshid=16x28eieic9dg
Dr.Jacob.Harden if the link doesn’t work. It might be more realistic for some to do his mobilisations and strengthening rather then a whole yoga/Pilates session.

Nice. Have followed that guy now.
Have always done stretches pre ride before but these based on 90s youth football training rather than anything else!

After doing my fixed SR this year I want to push myself. I have bought a cheapish smart turbo second hand (kinetic rock and roll), and a power meter.
Reading lots and watching too much YouTube I think this will work out well over two weeks (work rota).
Day off
Commute (2*10) gentle, evening turbo session
Commute (2*10) gentle
Turbo session
Commute (2*10) gentle
Day off
Long ride (100 mile or club ride)

Commute (2*10) gentle
Day off
Commute (2*10) hard
Commute (2*10) gentle
Commute (1*10 and 1*40)Does this look good and what should my turbo sessions be looking like? I'm new to training but cycled for 10 years and audaxed for around 5.

Anyone in for Greenwich Mean climb next week?
I'm riding rather than helping this year. Haven't actually ridden it as a calender yet only as a DIY.
I'm vaguely thinking the Wessex SR and Crackpot will be my goal next year, so will be packing in the AAA rides this winter.
Yeah, well if you want to do a 400 then I'd recommend this one. I've got lucky with it the few times I've done it, weather-wise so it's been really nice to me.
