Great, thanks for the tip - here goes nothing (apologies in advance, it's not even a good pic - it's definitely been built up too much by now)

Burlington Arcade which when you see twenty perfectly faded Pepsi bezel GMTs side by side kind of ruins their charm a bit.
That's always puzzled me, you pay for rarity?... Was in Tokyo earlier this year and some shops the same, then the one next door, and next door...
Rolex, can't really understand it. -

I bloody love a sandwich dial I do.

I have. Very meh. Maybe, maybe, at the same level of quality as a Khaki Mechanical. Definitely paying a huge premium for assembled in the U.S.
I like them aesthetically, a lot, actually, but struggle with the price. If their entry level model was $750 I'd be all over one, but at $1150 it becomes a bit harder to swallow. I know they don't have economies of scale like Hamilton, but they're more than twice the price of a Khaki...
Edit: Wrote $750 twice.

Suspected as much. I like the dial and case shape, but didn’t think quality looked amazing in product shots, and lacks basics liked drilled lugs. They sell US made ones in the UK on Mr Porter - but £1.8k is punchy!

Yeah i'm a sucker for them, they definitely help to keep a dial interesting. I don't know why sandwiches aren't more widespread - they must be easier to implement than messing around with applied indices.

Just a guess but perhaps thickness is the reason that you don't see as many as you'd expect.

Do you reckon Panerai is a bit like Porsche? I.e something you only get when you're a little older?
I used to hate Panerai but they keep turning my head more and more...

Panerai don’t do anything for me, dunno why as I love divers.
This looks really nice, I hadn’t seen it before:

They nailed the dial IMO. Would wear, on a very plain black leather strap.

I like the Porsche comparison (although I think Porsches are also known for actually working, so the analogy isn't quite there) - i've noticed the same thing myself. Maybe as you get older you appreciate design stubbornness . Or maybe, it's that massive pocket watches on your wrist are easy to see once the eyesight starts going :)
I really didn't (and still don't) like the Panerai brand either so was really surprised when i ended up getting one. I keep toying with selling it as it's not a sensible choice - there's loads of better finished / more reliable / more complicated etc choices out there - but every now and then i catch sight of it at just the right angle and I'm smitten again.

I thought you might like the moral support!

I went to visit my old boss recently. She was a media CEO, known for her style, and now lives in quite a well known country house. She was wearing a Luminor. Her husband was rocking a Timex, which I thought was even cooler.

Congrats! Such a perfect watch.
What are anyone’s views on Weiss watches? Anyone handled one in person?
