  • not sure it looks worth eating tbh

    Rosebay willowherb
The tall, pretty pink flower spikes of rosebay willowherb

  • Close but the flowers don't open like that.

Do you know of a resource to help me find out what it is?

  • It's probably of the same family, so somewhere within the 197 plants of the willowherbs

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epilobium

Exactly which would probably need a botanist to look at it

  • Rosebay Willowherb

I thought that was one of the Geldof kids

  • Not a website, but The Wild Flower Key by Francis Rose is still the gold standard for plant identification. Takes a bit of practice to use though.

  • Is blu-tac the best thing to use for attaching postcards to painted walls?
Has the formula changed since I was a kid or will it still turn into a weird-smelling hard wax and leave grease spots on things?
    Is there something better?

  • 3m command strips would seem to be the new hotness for this.

  • Ah yeah. Might try the poster strips. Looked into the ones for hanging frames before, but too many reviews of things falling off the wall and smashing...

  • Bought a massage roller stick in TK Maxx, got home. Just seen this.

I don’t plan on inserting it into any part of my body or consuming it, so should I be worried?

Far as I expect, everything with plastic/synthetics has potential to do that.

    Is it more about off-gassing?

  • Oh wait. Never mind. I used initiative. At least I’m not lactose intolerant...

  • Serious car trouble (one car household, rural, 3 kids = nightmare)
Citroen Nemo Automatic (don't laugh) 2012. Basically similar/same as Peugeot Bipper/Fiat Forino/Berlingo etc.
Was all fine yesterday. Went to start this morning and
Weird (rather than usual electrical start up/switch on sound when turning key first click)
    Not turning over at all
    Fuse relay ticking
    Speedo flicking up and down
    Hazards on/off intermittently
Various warnings Inc EPS, Fuel Cut off, Hill hold and a variation between a few and all dash lights flashing and a lot of flickering/ticking and general weird electrical type shit.

Can't get a read on portable diagnostic machine as I guess power from/to car won't maintain even when it's linked to a battery charger AN other car through jump leads.

    Any ideas?

  • Disconnect the battery for a minute, then reconnect.

Renault have a no start, unresponsive snag, which pulling a fuse or battery sorts.

  • How old is the battery?

  • Citroen Nemo Automatic (don't laugh) 2012

The only reason I'm laughing is that I nearly bought one at about the same time, but then I looked at how little extra the Berlingo was over the life cycle and how much more van you got. IIRC, it came to about £5 a week, which made the Berlingo a no-brainer. Not that having a Berlingo would make any difference in your current position, as they probably use a very similar computer, and everything computer driven is subject to bugs and glitches. My 2019 Berlingo started talking to me in French the other day, for no reason 🤷🏻‍♂️ #csb

As @user69121 suggests, a cold boot might fix it, as long as the battery is good.

  • @user69121
This was the first thing I tried (3 hours disconnected but alas no good). Will try over night too. Air bag warning now proving a popular one!

  • Since new but only 50k miles and also situation not helped with charger/jump

  • Ok so if the reset hasn't worked it is most likely that your battery is no good any more and therefore cannot hold a charge.

If you have AA, or similar, membership they can send a van to analyse the battery, give you a report. They will also probably have a suitable replacement on board that they can sell you and fit at your house or where your car is.

Alternatively if you can get a lift to Halfords or a garage they will be able to sell you a replacement (this will be cheaper than the aa)

  • Yeah; I'm hoping that is the case; also the battery tester showed only 9.8-10V on what's a 12V battery. The only thing that casts doubt is that it wouldn't start with a battery charger on 'start' mode.
Thanks for your contribution - see if I can borrow a neighbour's battery perhaps

  • We had an airbag warning light coming on in our Berlingo, it was just a connection under the front seat - something had got pushed under and snagged the wires, there's some under both front seats.

  • May be worth clearing out underneath, disconnecting/reconnecting everything. Try everything before I submit to getting completely rinsed!

  • You may* be able to rescue it with baking soda if there is corrosion on the terminals.

    Disconnect the battery completely.

Sprinkle baking soda on the terminals and connections.

Put a small spritz of water on the baking soda.

Once it has stopped fizzing give the terminals and connections a bit of a scrub.

Grease with petroleum jelly or specialist battery terminal grease.

Let everything dry completely and then reconnect.

*This has worked for me in the past I cannot tell if it will help you but you try it at you own risk. Also eye protection is advisable battery acid in your eye ain't nice.

  • This video might also help:

The guy is good at explaining engineering stuff to people with a good dose of humour and a potty mouth.
