  • Got a ride coming up at the end of this month, Congleton (Cheshire) to Bala (Welsh Wales), about 150 mile round trip, I don't really want to go on my Gravelking SK 32mm tyres, want summat less knobbly in 32mm, and tubeless, thoughts on gp 5000s and Pirelli cinturato please, similar prices, Pirelli is probably a "tougher" tyre. Anybody got any experience of both?
    Ta.

  • Few people at work have said the 5000s are fast and light but have had several punctures in the first few weeks since new

  • Thanks for the info. Went to lbs, they stock the contis, felt like race tyres, very light/thin, maybe too much so for everyday riding, so got home and ordered the Pirellis. Willing to sacrifice a little rolling resistance for what appears to be a reportedly tough/durable tyre. Whatever that rolling resistance website is called rates them very highly, so fingers crossed.
Will report back once fitted and tested, hopefully next weekend.

  • They're thinner than 4000s. That's how they get the lower Crr.
