No, but it's things like this that I think show Trump's just not well.

Maybe, but I have to be honest, I really struggle to qualitatively compare his current bullshit with his bullshit from two or three years ago... I honestly couldn't tell you whether he's going downhill or not. Though there are reports by people around him that seem to suggest he's having more and more senior moments.

I could well imagine it's got worse for him, but I don't watch him obsessively. For it to have got worse he would probably have had to be placed under more stress than before, when every indication is that most things don't really get to him, probably using wall-building techniques (not meant as a punning reference to his Mexico 'policy' but in a kind of Pink Floyd sense) he's had since childhood. I'm sure those around him are mostly concerned about somehow keeping the ship from sinking. That he might not be fit to govern would trigger a massive crisis.

The orange colour bit was just a joke at himself - he doesn't really think that. But frustratingly it distracts from the real content of what he says. Energy efficient light bulbs are hazardous waste? As if he gives a shit about hazardous waste.

Fine "I think that..." (This being an internet forum I sort of assumed that unless there are specific citations everyone knows it's just others spouting off their opinions).

But what you think that part is anything else other than him playing it for the laughs?

In my experience, I have never seen him act in a self deprecating way. Not once.

And there is a quite of anecdotal evidence to suggest that the guy might be a little deranged.

Him making jokey, over the top comments to get a laugh isn't really anything new and doesn't stop him being a mad narcissist (possibly supports it). I just see the lightbulb comment as him playing to his adoring crowd and don't put too much weight on it. That is all - didn't mean to suggest he isn't a deranged lunatic.

The man has proven himself again and again to be a total narcissist. He lies about matters that don’t matter in order to do anything but concede a mistake eg. sharpie-gate, inauguration turnout, yada yada yada.

I do think there’s an argument to be made that these ridiculous statements – “nuke that hurricane!”– could in fact be constructed and planned by his team in advance so to keep media attention fixated on the crazy Trump show and deflect from any real focus on his denigrating policies. But, self deprecating jokes I think not.

Yeah I know I think most on here are. Really my point was that I saw his hazardous waste comments, in contrast to all his other actions to do with environmental things, as being more important.

Also having had a very close relative suffer with dementia I'm not willing to give him that excuse - he has been doing this shit his whole life.

I don't get this one. Googling Sandy Hook Promise tells me

Is the organisation training people to fight off gun violence before it even happens? The video seems to suggest that it's too late once it starts? I'm confused
