Speaking of which - does anyone want either of the Squale's I posted a few pages back? Will be putting them on Reddit otherwise. The blue comes out at 549.77 GBP and the black 488.69 GBP based on today's exchange rate. Returning to the UK next weekend...

Congratulations! Very smart.

Bezel ring does look like Bakelite. The dial condition is amazing which I reckon is probably partly due to how well these things are sealed. The owner paid £10 for it at a jumble sale.

Squale bezels of that ilk are generally Bakelite inserts.

Love it - Although I was on the lookout for a re-issue, I went for a 2nd hand one from 60's. I'm a fan of the font and gold dial and it keeps great time.

Do you mind sharing how much you paid? Would be interested to compare side by side with a modern one also.

I do like patina. It is quite small. But so are my wrists, so anything larger than 38-40 looks weird imo. There are plenty of cool smaller watches out there.
