Let's face it, two blokes having a scrap in London wouldn't even make the papers. Because a cyclist is involved the case is headlines around the world (Australia, natch) and the 17 year old scraped under a car on the same day gets a tiny sub column.
This may be an unpopular take, but here goes: If there had been no
bike involved, would this ever have made national news? “Bloke
headbutts man in street after argument” would surely struggle to make
a local news website.
Yeah, that is definitely true. It's just capitalising on the general population's hatred for cyclists. They know it will get clicks, some random scrap between people in front of a pub won't.
