  • Internal routing makes sense on an aerobike, on anything else, it's smug wankery.

    Boringly, for composite and alloy frames used off road, internal is a great idea, because it can prevent complete destruction of the frame by cable rub.

    Yeah sensible cable set up should prevent that but the industry seems unwilling to provide this and consumers are unwilling to pay for it.

    Ah steel stuff I guess the worst is that you lose the paint.

  • somewhat to blame for this is manufacturers making stupid decisions about where to put cabling options. Almost all internal routing is on the left of the frame, and all disc forks are routed on the left, leaving you with one dumb cable loop regardless of how you cable your disc bike up.
