  • What a git!

  • Haha. Love a good Glasgow kiss. Not condoning arsey city types having the heid stuck in them of course.

Man in the cargo bike looks pretty nonplussed too

  • This was in the top ten news stories in the bbc yesterday and who knows perhaps it’ll knock brexit off the front page of the mail etc.

Up the road in Manchester we have a driver being sent to prison for a terrorist style attack on a cyclist and it only makes the local paper! What a fucking surprise!

    https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/road-rage-attack-cyclist-hanley-16896404

  • Sad how this article ends on the assailants claim of doing no wrong and doesn't mention the witness account of another driver.

  • Yeah that's a crap report on a horrible attack

  • Possibly senile?

Remember kids get that power of attorney in quick.

  • "he was going to cause an accident" so I rammed him. Seriously, good logic there.

  • The headbutt has just been on Crimewatch too. (Can't condone the attack, but on the video it looks like the pedestrian/victim does lay hands on the cyclist as they pass each other. I bet they both gave verbals as they passed and then escalation headbutt.)

  • fuck that, the cyclist's a fucking dickhead. doesn't matter what verbals were exchanged, who the victim is or how much press coverage it's been given. it's a close pass followed by a very quick violent reaction.
I appreciate often cyclists are treated like shit in the law and media but this forum really needs to have a word with itself about the reaction to that video.

  • Maybe he'd been knocked off his bike once too many and the City worker reminded him of Jeremy Clarkson.

  • If I headbutted / got headbutted every time verbals were exchanged on my commute through London Id be in the hospital 97 times a week (probably mostly due to my poor headbutting tekkers)

  • Looks like it's not his first headbutt too.

  • It's not a pedestrian crossing, it's where the cycleway crosses the junction. There is no green light for pedestrians there. If the rider came from the cycleway he had a green light. City of London police are making claims that aren't true, or at least can't be shown from their edited clip.

  • Right. But he headbutted someone.

  • even though it's not a ped crossing the cyclists passing in the background at the start of that video from right to left indicate that the cyclist crossing is green, as such the cyclist has 'run a red' by going straight on as if the cyclist crossing is green then the straight on light is red. so double dickhead

  • made me chuckle.. :)
How do people practice headbutts i wonder... ? Doesn't it hurt the person doing it? Is there a risk of teeth being embedded in someones head?
I saw a guy (who will remain nameless ) do a reverse headbutt on a guy walking out of a pub behind him (Barley mow in shoreditch late 90s) and knocked him clean out.
I'd just close my eyes and probably miss

  • It's obviously impossible to tell whether the rider came from the track or not, as the clip starts with him in a position that could indicate either, but it's actually not permitted to turn left from the track there. For this to be possible, there would have to be a 'jug handle', i.e. a spur from the track that can release riders into the main carriageway. The track crossing itself is only for people to cross to the other side of the track, and no other manoeuvres. The rider is in the wrong in any case (quite apart from the headbutt). (I don't blame him if he didn't know that you can't turn left there. Almost nobody does.) I also don't blame pedestrians for wanting to cross parallel to the cycle crossing.

  • So CoL police made claims that can't be proven from their own clip.

Cyclist was a knobber and deserves to be arrested and ostracised for no mudguards. And the violence. What the police claimed can't be proven from their clip.

  • Have you considered headbutt training?

  • It may well not be provable from their clip, but as they undoubtedly saw the full footage, I'm sure they are right to say that he rode in the carriageway and ran the red light. I daresay they didn't consider that material compared to the assault.

  • That might not be all of the footage they have, so they may be able to prove their claims.

  • No - i think avoiding a headbutt training would be more cost effective in the long run.

  • Maybe it wasn't a headbutt, maybe he just leaned in really close and said something really cutting like "no-one likes you" and the suited guy just recoiled in horror and had to have a lie down.

  • "A Jay walker in dark clothing collided with a bike today. The bike was unharmed."

  • Jay walker

That doesn't exist in the UK.
